			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Its always nice to see a new version of FreeBSD. The <a href="http://www.freebsd.org/releases/8.0R/announce.html">latest version</a> introduces a lot of new features and improvements that system administrators would love.<br />
Personally I enjoy the stability of ZFS since early development releases of FreeBSD 8. Now <a href="http://wiki.freebsd.org/ZFS">ZFS</a> is no longer experimental and can be used in production environments.<br />
The other interesting new feature is &#8220;<a href="http://imunes.tel.fer.hr/virtnet/">vimage</a>&#8221; or Network Virtualization that addresses one of the major shortcomings of <a href="http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/books/handbook/jails.html">FreeBSD jails</a>. Thanks to this new feature, the kernel can maintain multiple instances of networking subsystems, which means network independence for Jails.</p>
<p>The <a href="http://wiki.freebsd.org/TTYRedesign">new TTY</a> is more SMP friendly and works much snappier.</p>
